Myles has also done well himself, this nice flathead caught off the bottom on a vibe and a nice little king.
Shane Barling did well the other day off his local bagging these two very nice reds on a lil solo trip.
This mixed bag was being cleaned from a trip off Bellambi boat ramp on Wednesday last week
Good blackfish are being caught in Lake Illawarra at the moment. Flathead are also still being caught too, the mornings a good time to go.
Mitch speared a nice 62cm snapper off wollongong last Wednesday on his Rob Allen Tuna Roller Gun. What he did was catch and burley up with a cuttlefish, then left that location for about 10 minutes and returned under the cover of the surrounding structure, waiting until this guy got close enough to shoot.
Mitch also fished and speared the Kiama and Shellharbour FADs yesterday with customers Mark and Darren. They found plenty of dolphinfish along with rainbow runners and small kingfish. The two biggest dollies of the day (plus one other) were caught by Mitch casting the Jackson Tanto Lure in colour CIN out at them and using two different actions, one being a straight and fast wind with the tip down so the lure hung under the surface, the other action was a standard sweeping stick bait one where the rod is swept sideways and back and then the slack is wound up while you return your rod to face the front again. A total of 16 legal fish were caught between them which they took home and filleted for themselves and a few other mates.
Huw Kearny has been doing well fishing up stream in our south coast systems lately fishing with cicada imitations for bass, here’s two of fish to show for it.
Fergo is down the coast today fishing in Lake Conjola and doing really well on the flathead. 5 fish on the Bottom Magic in colour PDZ, 4 fish on Artist FR80 in colour GSU, and one on the Firebaits Longtail Minnow in colour 05. All lures were rigged with assist hooks off the back of them even the firebaits minnow hard assists off the jig head eyelet which ended up hooking the fish. 10 fish in a few hours is a cracking sesh!
